Lonnie Wheatley, CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (March 5, 2020) – After rain interrupted Central Arizona Speedway’s most recent attempt at racing on February 22, the 3/8-mile clay oval fires back to life with Saturday night’s “Cotton Classic”.
Saturday’s card will feature the San Tan Ford ASCS Desert Non-Wing Sprint Cars along with IMCA Modifieds, Pure Stocks, Bombers and Power 600 Micro Sprint Cars.
Racing action will get under way at 7:00 p.m.
It will mark the ASCS Desert Non-Wing Sprint cars second stop of the season at CAS after Stevie Sussex topped the series season opener on February 1 ahead of Pete Yerkovich, who rallied from 15th, and Sterling
There’s no better way to spend a Saturday night than at the races. ASCS San Tan Ford Sprints cars will be on hand for the Cotton Classic March 7th at Central Arizona Speedway. Joining the line up will be the IMCA Modifieds, Pure Stocks, Bombers and Power 600 Series Micros. Racing action begins at 7:00pm. Pits open at 4:00pm, Front Gates open at 5:00pm. We are a cash only facility. Cost of admission is $18 for Adults, $15 for Seniors/Military and Kids 11 and under are free. (February 11, 2020) – Fargo, North Dakota’s Casey Arneson pocketed Tuesday night’s $2,000 IMCA Modified winner’s share atop the 3/8-mile Central Arizona Speedway by wiring the field in the 25-lap feature event that capped off the fourth round of the Fourth Annual Arizona Dirt Track Tour.
While Arneson earned IMCA Modified honors, Nebraska’s Brian Osantowski took the $750 winner’s share in the IMCA Sport Modifieds while Arizona native Ricky Thornton, Jr., picked off his second $750 IMCA Stock Car win in as many CAS rounds.

(February 9, 2020) – Mesa’s Chaz Baca, Jr., bounced back from an opening lap miscue to pocket Sunday afternoon’s $2,000 IMCA Modified winner’s share as the Fourth Annual Arizona Dirt Track Tour stormed into the 3/8-mile Central Arizona Speedway clay oval in Casa Grande.
While Baca, Jr., took the big check, Cody Thompson and Ricky Thornton, Jr., cashed in as well with $750 triumphs in IMCA Sport Modified and IMCA Stock Car action respectively as 93 cars filled the pit area for the third of six Arizona Dirt Track Tour events.
