ASCS Wing Sprint Cars and Napa Non Wing 360 Sprint Cars make up the first ever Sprint Car Showdown at Casa Grandes Central Arizona Speedway this Saturday night April 23rd.
Rick Zeihl will carry his 2016 ASCS South West region 21 point lead into Saturday nights shootout ahead of Bob Ream Jr with Colton Hardy just 56 points out of the top spot. In the last ASCS meeting to the ultra fast speedway Logan Forler claimed the top honors with Ream finishing in second. Ream will be looking for a consistent finish to bridge the gap in his 2016 championship title chase.
Napa Non Wing Sprint Cars will also headline the card with Matt Lundy holding the top honors heading into Saturday nights feature. With 5 races down the Napa series has saw 3 different winners, Lundy, Josh Shipley and the latest winner, Cody Cambensey who picked up the win at Canyon Speedway this past weekend. As the series finishes the first 1/3 of it season the battle has heated up for the top 6 points positions. Lundy who has a comfortable lead entering the weekend with the next 5 positions changing weekly between Tanner Grau, Josh Shipley, Joe Scheopner, Rick Shuman and Cody Batten.
Sport Mods return after several weeks off from the speedway and Jason George leads the division into Saturday nights feature. Ray Czumaj enters in the second position followed by Eric Winemiller and Dennis Gates.
Pure stocks are on the card as well and Nelson Morrow has began to stretch his lead in the 2016 chase with Larry Brigner and Johnny McCarty JR rounding out the top 3.
Bombers finish the card and Mark Farnes will try and extend his 24 point lead over Dixon Tipton and Steve Soboski.
Racing action begins at 7:00pm Saturday April 23rd . Pits open at 4:00pm, front gates open at 5:00pm. Cost of admission is $15 for adults, $12 for senior and kids 11 and under are free.
