Racing resumes at Central Arizona Speedway this Saturday night and will feature 2 headlining divisions. Both the Napa Non Wing Sprint Cars and San Tan Ford Modifieds will be on tap for the 2nd annual Pinal County Credit Union night at the races.
Last time to the speedway the Napa Non Wing stars had fans on the edge of their seats as Matt Lundy led Tanner Grau to the checkers and took the first feature win of 2016 followed by Rick Shuman. Since then Josh Shipley picked up a win at the World of Outlaw show at Arizona Speedway and set the road for the 2016 championship that now has Matt Lundy in the lead followed by Joe Scheopner, Josh Shipley, Tanner Grau, and Rick Shuman with rookie Cody Batten just outside the top 5 in sixth.
San Tan Ford IMCA Modifieds also headline the Pinal Credit Union night. With 4 different winners in 7 CAS races it is anyones game for Saturday nights main event. Lance Mari who picked up the most recent win, with Jeremy Thornton and Chaz Baca Jr who also have wins on the season and the rest of the Modified crew will try and establish their reign as Ricky Thornton Jr has left the door open for a new champion in 2016.
Pure stocks, Modlites and Bombers all return Saturday night as well.
Pure stocks are being led by Nelson Morrow who is 3 points ahead of Larry Brigner.
Mark Farnes holds a commanding lead over Dixon Tipton and Adrianna Marshall in the bombers.
Modlites return with John Priest, Brendon Priest, the Kuhl family and the rest of the contenders eager to get back to the high speed oval.
Racing action begins at 7:00pm Saturday April 2nd . Pits open at 4:00pm, front gates open at 5:00pm. Cost of admission is $15 for adults, $12 for senior and kids 11 and under are free.
