The word is out and stage is set for the 2014  Desert Thunder Nationals and the South West Modified Championships season finale.  The best of the IMCA Modifed drivers the South West has to offer will stand off against the best of the rest of the country in the first annual Desert Thunder Nationals at Central Arizona Speedway on Saturday November 22nd and Sunday November 23rd.   This Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon fall blockbuster event has drawn the attention of drivers from around the country and will put the South West Modified Championship stand outs Cody Graham, Eric Center, Chaz Baca and Don Earven and Arizona stand outs Ricky Thornton Jr. and Tim Ward on the edge to test their skill against the likes of Jeff Taylor, Alex Stanford, Spencer Wilson, Shawn Strand, Jesse Sobbing and many more who have commented on attending ,  as we head into the largest IMCA Modified event Arizona has seen for many years with the Sunday finale boasting a $3000 to win payday.

X-Mod/Northern Sport Mods will also shine as the points leaders of the South West X-Mod Championships of Eric Winemiller, Trevor Miller, Chris Caldwell and Nolan Morrow will stand off against an incoming fleet of national stand outs that our coming off an outstanding trip from the IMCA Duel In The Desert in Vegas.   The winner  in the X-Mod/Northern Sport Mod divisions Sunday feature will be taking home $750.

Pure Stocks will crown a Champion for the 2014 season as well with consistency playing a key role in the 2014 Championship that now has a new leader with Michael Huffman holding a 1 point leading heading into the final 2 races of the season over Terry Churchwell.  The Pure Stocks will race for $400 to win in Sundays Championship feature and $300 to win on Saturday night.

Mod Lites round out this star studded card and wrap up their 2014 season that has seen multiple feature winners and Brenden Priest will look to clinch his first AMA Modlite Championship as only 1 point separates himself and Tyler Merrill headed into the 2 day finale. Both young guns will look for a story book ending to their 2014 seasons.

Racing action begins at 6:00pm on Saturday November 22nd. Pits gates open at 1:00pm and front gates open at 4:00pm.  On Sunday November 23rd racing action begins at 1:30pm.
