Saturday night August 16th racing action resumes at the fastest most action packed track in the southwest featuring the IMCA Modified SouthWest  Championships bringing  a fantastic card of IMCA Modifieds, X-Mods, SuperStocks, Pure Stocks and Bombers. Racing action is slated to go green at 7:30pm.  Along with this blockbuster card we will feature an intermission spectacular PIT CREW CHALLENGE for the Modifieds and X-Mods. Details below.

IMCA Modified SouthWest  Championships have enjoyed an extended break as well as the other divisions and will be out in force on Saturday night. Cody Graham leads the Modifieds into Saturday nights event setting 27 points in front of Casa Grandes Brian Schultz and 48 points ahead of 3rd place Eric Center.   The 1X machine of Don Earven sits 119 points out currently in 6th position but has been dominant in his last 3 attempts at Central Arizona Speedway.

The SouthWest X-Mod Championships have also been added to the card for the evening as the car counts have grown and action has exceeded what we had hoped for in what could be a headlining division.  They will race for a special points paying event $500 to win $250 for 2nd place show on Saturday night sponsored by Rips Napa Apache Trail Auto Supply and Torco Race Fuels.  Trevor Miller leads Eric Winemiller in the season long battle with 2012 and 2013 Champion Chris Caldwell in 3rd.

Super Stock Championships are on the card with a lull in action but will make up for the past 2 months off bringing out the best Super Stocks in the South West on Saturday night.  Allen Kelley leads  Joe Saringer and Heath Mceuen so far in the season championships.  We look for growth in the division as the racing continues to be fantastic from one of the most consistent divisions in the south west.

C.A.S.Pure Stock leader and conqueror thus far in the season Terry Churchwell has called out all drivers from the South West to try and cleanly take his crown at his home track.  Churchwell has been unstoppable to date as 2013 Arizona Speedway Champion Michael Huffman and  Trevor Hidalgo have given their all and have 2nd and 3rd positions to show for it in the 2014 championships.   All three drivers will be on their game and ready for battle on Saturday night as they challenge for the $350  to win Saturday night sponsored by Arizona Differential.

We will finish off the card with the expected largest Bomber field in history as both the Robort Horne Ford Bombers from Arizona Speedway and the Central Arizona Speedway Bombers all converge for the special $200 to win feature sponsored by Arizona Differential.

Finally for our favorite part of the evening we will hold the “Pit Crew Challenge” for both the IMCA Modifieds and X Mod divisions at intermission.  This will consist of any IMCA team and X Mod teams to be ran as separate  divisions that want to compete.  There is no charge to run this event other than regular pit pass.   At intermission all teams participating will come from the pits to the front straight away and compete for a pair of rear Hoosier G60’s  for 1st place and 1 Hoosier G60 rear tire for second place by rotating all 4 tires on the car and setting it back down on the track.  There will be a maximum of 4 pit crew members along with the driver that sits in the seat and can use a maximum of 2 floor jacks. All tires must be firmly secured and markered upon entering the challenge.   The  fastest crew in the bunch will walk away with a pair of G60 rears and second place will receive 1 Hoosier G60 rear tire courtesy of Arizona Speedway. A-Mods and X-Mods will be ran separate.

Racing action begins at 7:30pm, Pits open at 4:00pm, front gates open at 5:30pm.  Cost of admission is $12 for adults, $10 for senior and kids 11 and under are free.   Central Arizona Speedway is located at 512 N Eleven Mile Corner Road,  Casa Grande, AZ 85194  at the Pinal county fairgrounds.  Follow us to win tickets at or call 480-266-1378 for more info.  .
